Description
Value $30.00 These two decanter corks or stoppers are made of metal, rubber gaskets and Bigleaf maple, Acer macrophyllum wood. The metal and wood stopper measures 3 ½“x 1 ½”, while the smaller wooden one is 2” x 3/4”.
Acer macrophyllum, Bigleaf maple, is a native species. A mature tree, it grew in Bed 97, the Bee Garden in Darts Hill Garden Park, eventually declined and was cut down as a risk management measure. The wood of this maple has been turned into two small decanter corks or stoppers by a member of the Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild (FVWG). Art doesn’t get more practical than this!
