The artists have valued this piece of usable art at $350.00. Materials/dimensions: This finely crafted bowl has been turned from Acer macrophyllum, Bigleaf maple. The bowl measures 14-1/2” wide x 3” high.
Acer macrophyllum, Bigleaf maple is a native species. A mature tree, it grew in Bed 97, the Bee Garden in Darts Hill Garden Park. Eventually it declined and was cut down as a risk management measure. The wood of this maple has been turned into a beautiful medium sized short sided bowl by craftsmen John Spillers and Dan Breck, members of the Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild (FVWG). A wonderful functional piece of art. For info try: Dan’s Bees and Bowls
