Description
The wood craftsman has valued this cute honey pot at $30.00. The maple lid and swizzle stick are made from Bigleaf maple, Acer macrophyllum wood. One of Mrs. Darts teaspoons in the picture shows the size of the glass jar.
The tree, Acer macrophyllum, Bigleaf maple is a native species. A mature tree, it grew in Bed 97, the Bee Garden, eventually declined and was cut down as a risk management measure. The wood of this maple has been used to make the lid of the honey jar plus a swizzle stick serving tool by craftsman Dan Breck, a member of the Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild (FVWG). Art doesn’t get more practical than this! Dan’s Bees and Bowls
