Artist in Residence – Teresa Klein

Biography

Poet, writer, and orator Teresa Klein is a multi-media and natural materials public engagement artist. Geopoetics, Indigenous knowing and the natural world greatly inspire her work. With more than 35 years experience with garden design, herbal medicine, food foraging, and as an instructor practitioner of Chi Kung, her events are often integrative and encourage the use of all our senses. With gratitude, her list of teachers and mentors is far-reaching.

Artist in Residence Program

Be part of an interactive public art piece. Choosing from an array of wooden beads and natural items including various twigs, wooden medallions, dried leaves, seashells, seedpods, and feathers, string together a strand of items that represents the interconnection of life. As part of the process you will have opportunity to create a ‘stick’ person to represent yourself and your place as part of the natural world.

Interactive storytelling and no prop theatre with children ages 5 to 9. Engaging children with different elements of the garden. If I were a flower… If I were a bed… if I were an apple tree.. playing with movement and sound and expression.
