Darts Hill Artist in Residence June/July 2021 – Rosemary Burden
Artist in Residence – Rosemary Burden – Photography, drawing and journaling
Rosemary Burden is a Canadian artist, living and working in Vancouver. She graduated from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2011. Her work is mostly experimental and often repetitive in nature. Pattern and structure are an important element in her work, which is influenced by biology, mathematics, and particle physics. Recent installations have included thousands of butterflies punched out of old books, formed into clusters, and quotations from literature translated into binary language and beaded into long glittering strands. She is a member of the Nimbus collective, and 13 Feet Off The Ground artist collective. She is honoured to have been invited to show work with Z.inc Artist Collective.
