Surrey parks staff, Scott Hemple and Ken Warren began developing two wildflower gardens in the Maple Meadow at Darts Hill Garden Park in 2019. The display last summer was not up to snuff so early this year the area was rototilled, mulched and reseeded. This second soil treatment and new seed proved to be highly successful. These two wildflower meadows drew visitors, particularly photographers, into the upper Volunteer parking lot to take a closer look at the bountiful and very colourful display in late July. These fabulous meadow flowers will still be blooming in September so make sure to come by and take a look.
